We recorded a few songs under the Solid Gold Records label and the Salem Records label. Late in 1970, Salem Records of Glendale California released "The Way I Feel About You", which again played the radios and jukeboxes of the west coast. In 1971, "Happy Love" was released.

Also in 1971, I went to college to earn a teaching degree, but continued to play music in nightclubs on the weekends and during summers in order to support my family.

I taught school for three years in Indiana, playing music on the weekends with a group called Adam's Apple. But in 1979 I went back to playing six nights a week.

In 1981, I secured a full-time job with the State of Indiana. Then I formed a new band in 1982 called Eugene and the Sugar Creek Band.

The Sugar Creek Band released two songs on Acts Records in 1984: "Just One of Those Nights", and "Can't Go To Sleep".
